Reset Day 14

yep you're reading it right, the pic is from Day 12 & I'm on Day 14....but I had an exact repeat except I added peaches to my fruit plate!  I had to use up my leftovers before tomorrow b/c I hit a new Phase with new foods tomorrow!!!  I had my very last Detox before supper tonight!!  YIPPPEEE!!  Now I will be happy to be done with Alkalinize at the end of Day 21! :)  ONE MORE WEEK, I got this....right?  Ugh today was hard...very hard to drive by the snow cone stand while I was drenched in sweat from cleaning my car inside & out! (If you know me you know this was quite a chore, lol!)

So I'm off to bed with my family, after an awesome Lord's Day!  Hope you had a great one yourself!!!

Reset Day 13

I HAVE ONE WEEK LEFT!!!  Ok so I am a little more than excited that tomorrow is my last day of Phase 2!  SOOO that means 2 weeks down and 1 to go!  I am fixing to enter RESTORE Phase!  AHhhhhh!  I already feel great, so I know this is going to be awesome!!!  LOOK at all the food I ate today, and it was all yummy!  I couldn't quite get all the kale down but I fixed a lot!!  My breakfast was a little skimpy this morning b/c I was running low on fruit but I ran to the store tonight for milk for the kiddos & fixed that problem!  I am now restocked on strawberries, kiwis, blueberries & peaches!  MMM!

Well, I have to get to bed so I can get up for church in the morning...so sorry for the speedy update.
G'night y'all! - Crys
p.s. here's the view I had while eating my salad at lunch!!  BEAUTIFUL!: )

Reset Day 12

Today was hard!!  Not gonna lie I had MAJOR cravings today!  What for you ask?  CHOCOLATE...SHAKEOLOGY!  I want soooo bad to fix a "Chunky Monkey" but I know if I do I will just want another tomorrow...and again the next day & I can only have Vegan Shakeology during the Reset so I'm gonna be good & steer clear!  Ahh!  I did make myself a Tropical Strawberry ShakeO as a snack which is allowed.  I made it with almond milk & a spoon of natural pnut butter.  It was pretty yummy, but still not as satisfying as chocolate would have been! ha!!

Breakfast was fruit again I just can't bring myself to eat spinach & smashed chickpeas for breakfast when fruit is an option!  Doesn't even sound good to me so I'm pretty sure I couldn't choke it down first thing in the morning....fruit however, I can devour!:)

Lunch was leftover red bell peppers & onions from last night's Bisque & I baked another sweet potato and this time smashed it up instead of mixing them in the blender, I liked it this way better!  Also had a side of asparagus again. mmm!

Supper was very interesting!  Still not sure I am a fan of beets but I've had worse & they were flavored well so it was doable!  The coconut collard greens are definitely gonna be in my recipe box!!! YUM! and I love quinoa....so it was a good night over all!

Now I'm sitting here drinking my "sweet dreams" tea..... and I'm heading to bed.
G'night y'all!

Reset Day 11

My day started off a little crazy, I slept past my alarm clock (by a couple of HOURS) ... I guess that "Sweet Dreams" herbal tea really worked well for me last night...LOL!  And here I sit drinking it again...maybe I will set TWO alarm clocks this time! ha!  So I woke up a little behind schedule on my supplements/meals so it kinda threw my morning outta wack, but it was all better after lunch & we had a fun trip to the library and got to sit in on a neat little story time!  My kids loved it...we had to wait on a computer to print a shipping label to return an iPod that was broken from Ebay(yep our printer is officially out of ink!) So we ran to the post office after printing our label & getting a fishy book!;) Can't leave the library w/out at least one book right?  So we finished our errands & came home to destroy my partially clean house play!  I found the kids a whole black trash bag full of "Chuck the Truck" & "CAT" equip. for $20 the other day on an online yard sale (who else is addicted to online yardsaling?!)  It has entertained them for hours, you'd never know they had a whole room full of other toys!  So they played while Momma got some work in.  I love being able to be a Stay @ Home Mom AND work at the same time.  After a little work it was time for some Alkalinize ....hmmm, that stuff just doesn't taste too great & the more days that go by the more ready i am to be done with it!  The detox that I do 3x a day this week during Phase 2 is kinda like taking mulled cider, cooling it off & dumping a tea bag's contents into it!  haha!  So yeah it's not "great" but it's tolerable & could be muuuuch worse!  <insert here: "Mommy I gotta go potty" "Mommy he's hitting me" "Screams" "Laughs!" " 'J' saying uh-oh! & monkey!" "Smiles" "Dirty Diapers" "Boo-boos" "Hugs & Kisses" ... >Then it was time for supper...on the menu tonight.....  Sweet potato & roasted red pepper bisque with asparagus.  It was great!  The Bisque was rich as expected but definitely a good recipe I would not have thought to fix before this Reset!

Just to recap: Breakfast -- fresh fruit plate, always yummy!
lunch - pinto beans, brown rice & Greek salad
supper - Bisque & asparagus - keeper recipe!!

I have to admit I am having pretty strong feelings about busting out a Turbo Fire workout tonight!!  This no working out is definitely hard for me after working out 5-6 days a week for what seems like for ever now!  I am committed to working on my nutrition tho & for this Reset it's recommended not to get your heart rate up so that your body is resting and fully getting everything out of the Reset it can....:) I can do this!

"Sweet Dreams" tea is kicking in..............g'nite y'all!

Boost Your Hydration with Himalayan Salt

Minerals, including salt, are essential to life. We can't live without them. Sadly, today's common table salt (sodium chloride), found in most homes and restaurants and in all processed foods, contains none of the trace minerals that make salt good for us.

Wood spoon with minerals

Himalayan salt, which can be found in Tropical Strawberry Shakeology®, contains pure crystal salt that is minimally processed and contains up to 84 natural minerals and elements. These elements promote stable pH, aid with the absorption of food particles through the digestive tract, regulate water content through the body, prevent muscle cramps, and help support cellular function.
So, how can you use Himalayan salt in your diet?
It's easy! You can always drink Tropical Strawberry Shakeology but if that's not your chosen flavor, fear not—we recommend substituting the current salt you're using for Himalayan anyways! It tastes similar and is WAY better for you. That part is a no-brainer, but another insider tip that Darin and Isabel (creators of Shakeology) have been doing for years and that lends to the amazing results people have gotten from the Ultimate Reset™ is adding Himalayan salt to distilled water for extra hydration.
Hydration is a huge part of the health equation, and drinking distilled water is the best way to hydrate your body. Distilled water is the purest water available; unlike tap, filtered, or bottled water, distilled water is stripped of everything except for its oxygen and hydrogen molecules. In order to get the minerals you need, Darin and Isabel recommend you add a pinch of Himalayan salt to your distilled water to supply you with the essential minerals and electrolytes your body needs for optimum health.
Recipe: Add half a teaspoon of Himalayan salt per gallon of distilled water, or a pinch (0.8 grams) to each 12 to 32 oz. glass of distilled water.
What water to drink:
  • First choice: distilled water with Himalayan salt added.
  • Second choice: tap water filtered through a reliable reverse osmosis or carbon filtration system, not a pitcher filtration unit.
  • Last choice: bottled water, preferably smartwater® or Penta®. (Bottled water comes last because most of it isn't better than tap water.)

Where to find Himalayan salt: Trader Joe's®, Whole Foods Market®, online.
Happy hydrating!

Reset Day 10

Another super quick update from the busy me!! :)  I am getting some of my energy back this week, YAY!  But I have been super moody..ask my hubby & kids!  ... and the manager at Target! LOL!  We went swimming today and before we went we stopped in Target to grab a few things so we wouldn't have to shop later when the kids were tired from swimming!  Long story short they wouldn't honor a clearance price THEY tagged on a Hello Kitty beach towel.  Not a necessity (unless you ask my 4 year old!!) ha!  But yeah they suspended my transaction while trying to decide if they could honor it or not & then let other people go in line while I stood there with my two kids (umm with the 4 year old trying to throw a fit over Squinkies?!)  Ahhhh!  So I told them they could keep their beach towel & the rest of the items I was going to purchase & I'd go elsewhere.  Uhh I obviously didn't think this one through considering I then had to drag both kids in to Walmart after we went swimming....ha!!  So moral of the story, I was not a happy person this morning! ;)  That changed shortly after...I got in the car and laughed at myself for what I had just done. (by the way in case you are wondering I told them they could keep their stuff in the most polite way possible, didn't make a scene like I've seen so may other "crazy people" do <---maybe they aren't crazy, maybe they are detoxing! BAHAHA!  Anyway I got back to the car and texted my friend Jess, and just started laughing at myself!  So I was determined to get in a great mood after that & I took my kiddos swimming, we had a great time!  Nobody got sunburnt so that's always a major plus!  We managed to go in Walmart on the way home with no meltdowns!  I love swim days b/c the kids go to bed with no questions asked on those days! hehe!  Wear 'em out & send 'em to bed early... ;)  So this super quick update is not so super quick..........hmmm!  I need to be sleeping, but updating everyone on my Reset is more important right? ... and somebody's gotta warn y'all about the moodiness that I'm blaming on is part of detoxing!  Have I mentioned I'm ready for Phase 3 so I can get my huge burst of energy & glowing skin? hehe!

(my little fishies!!)

Breakfast - on the go, fruit bowl...snapped a pic on the way out the door!  Amazing as always!!
Lunch - on the go quinoa salad with cucumbers, green onions & tomatoes.  MUCHO better without the mint! hehe!  and umm...sorry no picture guys, I ate this one as I was driving the kids to the pool just to fit my meal in.....barely talented enough to eat this & drive at the same time & you sure don't want to see a pic of that! ha!
Supper - huge SUMMER salad with Beans & Rice.  YUMMMO!

oh & I also had another awesome Vanilla Rooibos Tea!!

So there it is folks, Day 10 is in the books!

Reset Day 9

Day 9............done done done!! :)  I'm gonna have to make this short & sweet, I'm exhausted...finally got the 16 month old toodle bug to bed & Momma is right behind him!!!

Breakfast - Tropical Shakeology PACKED FULL of fresh berries!  Strawberries, Raspberries & Blueberries.  YUMO!
Lunch - HUMONGOUS Greek Salad......it was wonderful!  And I know I'm weird but I save my "to go boxes" from restaurants when I bring leftovers home & doesn't this salad look just like it came from Zaza's?! Straight from the Holley Household refrigerator folks, it's true I made this beautiful salad!;) p.s. it ROCKED!
Supper - ok so I laugh every time I blog b/c on my pics I put "Dinner" and here I blog about "Supper" ... it's the redneck in me I guess...hehe!  It just sounds weird to talk about dinner, like I'm trying to be all fancy...so supper it is, LOL!  Annnnyway we had beans & rice with Greek salad tonight. Yep I made enough at lunch I had some left for supper!  The beans are always a big hit around here...looks like we'll be having leftovers for lunch since I cooked a whole crock pot full!  mmmm! Fresh fruit plate in the morning coming right up, I'm going to get beatified!...........g'night y'all!

Reset Day 8

WOW! I weighed in this morning and I lost 6 pounds in 7 days. I've been trying to not get attached to the numbers on the scale – which is why I will only weigh in once per week – but I think a 6 pound loss warrants talking about. Don’t you?  While detoxing and cleansing were important factors in deciding to embark on this journey, I also wanted to break a weight loss plateau and it sure seems like I am accomplishing that goal!  I'm feeling more "normal" by the day now...hoping by next week I will be feeling awesome with tons of energy!!  I haven't had a headache in a couple days now, so I think all of my addictions...such as caffeine, sugar(tho I didn't overload on sugar I'm sure completely removing it did play some part in my headaches!) as well as all the other bad stuff in my diet that I removed all in one week!:)  I had a pretty amazing herbal tea today from Starbuck's!  It is called Vanilla Rooibos Tea(Tazo brand) It was amazing!  However, I'm pretty sure this was so tastey just b/c it was in a Starbuck's cup & I'm a coffee addict...so it was kinda the same as ordering my skinny latte! LOL!

So here's a breakdown of my meals :)
Breakfast - A plate full of yummy fresh fruit...what's not to LOVE?!
Lunch - Microgreen Salad with 1/8 of an avocado(btw yes I know I spelled it wrong on my pic but I'm not going back to change it now...so people that hate misspelled words, so sorry!) ;)  I also put walnuts on my salad today to change it up a little... and I squeezed fresh lime on it, and topped it off with some basic vinaigrette!  Deliciouso!!
Supper - Well if you've been following my posts you know we had a "potty" incident....yep we had to go buy a new one at Lowe's tonight & it was a little like flushing money down the toilet (LITERALLY) hehe...I cracked myself up with that one...the hubby didn't think it was that funny! ;)  So by the time we got done with all that & keeping up with 2 kids we decided to go to my daughter's favorite restaurant, Russo's Coal-Fired Italian Kitchen.  I knew my choices would be limited but my daughter seemed to have her heart set on eating there.  Yeah if you are wondering...the beans in the crock pot didn't happen this morning!!  By the time I thought about it, was way too late to be done in time for supper, so we will have that meal tomorrow night & my hubby is super excited he gets beans & cornbread!(I'll be having brown rice instead of cornbread with mine!) I will probably top it with some salsa....yum!  So back to tonight's supper...it was between Cucumber Salad & Caprese...I probably should have chosen the Cucumber Salad or even a Greek Salad but I WANTED the yummy juicy tomatoes!!  It was great:)  This phase still allows some dairy so it wasn't actually a "cheat" but I probably could have made a better choice.  My hubby thought it was funny I was taking a picture of my food at every meal, I told him y'all are keeping me accountable!  If even one person is reading my blog posts...it's worth it!  I want to finish this Reset strong & to the best of my ability...8 days in, can't give up!  I won't give up!

I'd better head towards more of that beauty sleep, I sure need it with this greasy face & hair from detoxing! haha!!!  G'nite y'all!

Reset Day 7

"This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24  I woke up this morning a little earlier than normal on Sunday mornings b/c our service time changed at church!(Which was awesome btw!  My Daddy gave a great lesson this morning & we sang out of our new books that came in last week!!)  So we had to be there 30 minutes earlier AND I had to actually sit down to EAT my breakfast (normally I drink my Shakeology on Sunday mornings in the car on the way to church!)  I stumbled in the kitchen, took my supplements & headed for the shower...after that my 30 minutes had passed & I was ready to eat breakfast.    I am on a major oatmeal & fruit kick if you can't tell!  ...well that's over!!  I enjoyed my last bowl of oatmeal that I was allowed for the next 2 weeks!  YIKES! So I will be having fresh fruit for breakfast, with an occasional Shakeology, I'm allowed to have 1/2 a scoop during Phase 2 & 3.  I'm used to taking a full scoop but I'm pretty sure 1/2 is better than getting none!!!  I am having serious Shakeology cravings here people!:)   I did get my "fix" tonight tho, thanks to an amazing friend I got my hands on some Tropical Strawberry Shakeology(vegan) which I AM allowed to have.  I'm also planning to grab some of the NEW vegan chocolate ShakeO that came out recently while I'm in town this week......heads up Jess if you are reading this I need a scoop or two!  Ok, so I have to apologize I didn't get a picture for ya at lunch...I was too busy keeping up with my kiddos at my Nana's house to snap a picture of my food before I ate it!  But just to fill you in, here's a recap of my meals today!

Breakfast - yummy as always 1 cup oatmeal & 1 cup fresh strawberries.
Lunch - HUGE salad with vinaigrette dressing & carrots(the family had pot roast with carrots & potatoes) and I also had some cantaloupe & watermelon!  Not an EXACT meal from Phase 1 but I do still have a life so I made due with what I had & I didn't cheat so I'm still happy!!
Supper - thanks to my sweet friend Jalynn I was able to have Tropical Strawberry Shakeology with water, ice & berries....and a TINY amount of cranberry juice(no sugar added) which is also allowed in Phase 1 :)

I've noticed I'm less & less achy each day...so this coming week is looking great!!  I start on DETOX tomorrow, I still take all the other supplements I just add this one in for Phase 2.  I will weigh in tomorrow morning for week one!!!!

I am planning to put a pot of pinto beans in the crock pot in the morning, and dinner tomorrow night will be pinto beans & brown rice with steamed zucchini and green beans..YUM!  Breakfast is a fruit plate(low glycemic choices) and lunch will be a salad!  Time for a bubble bath with Epsom salt to relax & then off to get some more beauty sleep!

Reset Day 6

It's the WEEKEND & I made it through Day 6...woop woop!!! :)  Another quick update, my kiddos are ready for bed & it's been a loooong day!  We enjoyed part of the day at the local Peach Festival, I got the cutest T-shirt in a size...........SMALL :) It says "Flip Flops...the Glass Slippers of the South!" hehe!  I thought it was pretty stinkin' cute!  Hubby got a coon hunter's shirt, of course!  We love Dixie Traditions T's!!  But yeah back to what I was saying ;) ...I was able to eat breakfast & lunch at home before we went & when we got home my hubby at to get to work on our "potty" repair...it's been leaking so he THOUGHT all he'd have to do is replace the gasket?  So I took the kiddos & we went shopping to get them out of the house for awhile and out from under Daddy's feet!  We were supposed to meet in town & have a dinner/movie date.  So I call to let him know what time movies are playing & he says the gasket didn't work. Long story short, I ended up ordering from Marketplace Grill, was able to get Teriyaki Chicken which was mostly veggies.  I didn't do too bad for a non-planned meal...I ate it with a salad & my homemade dressing & skipped the bread that came with it(yay me!) So here it is Saturday night and guilt free!!!  Hubby & the kids have almost gone through their stash of 3 Musketeers from Granny F so the temptation is getting smaller tho he brought home some pretty amazing looking Popsicles today.  I think he's testing me!  LOL!  But I ate a few blueberries & had no problems turning down a sugary treat!  So here's a breakdown on the meals.
Breakfast - amazing as usual!  1 cup oatmeal, 1 cup fruit, 1/2 cup Greek yogurt w/ raw honey!
Lunch - hmmmm it was interesting.  Zucchini Cashew Soup.  I would definitely have to thin it down some if I was going to make it often, it was VERY rich.  I wanted to get all of the veggies down tho so I didn't thin it today, barely made it through the whole bowl!  I also added crushed red pepper to give it some more flavor.  I also ate this with a microgreen salad w/ homemade creamy garlic dressing & 1/4 sliced avocado.  Sorry I've been leaving my salads out of the pics.......will try to do better! ;)
Supper - AMAZING!  Chicken Teriyaki for one split with my hubby, really it was more than plenty!  It comes with a salad so he got that and I stuck with my microgreen salad & homemade dressing.  Marketplace Grill is one of my favorite restaurants & they bring your meal out to you curbside so I didn't have to drag two sleeping kiddos out of the car to get our meal! (If you are a Mom you know how much this meant to me today!!LOL!)

g'nite y'all!

Reset Day 5

Day 5 and I am one cranky Momma!!  I can just FEEL my nerves are bad, don't you just love knowing you're being a sour grape?  I've tried hard all day to catch myself & have patience with the kiddos...it's not their fault I am detoxing from all the junk I've fed my body & breathed in from the environment all these years.  But yeah, today I felt very on edge.  My legs have been aching, nothing to really complain about but worth mentioning so you know what you're getting into if you decide to do the Reset! ;)  I can't wait to tell you how awesome I feel by week 3(Restore Phase) I'm currently in the Reclaim Phase, and will enter the Release Phase (on Monday, Day 8!)  Can you tell I'm ready to be done with week 1?  hehe!!

Breakfast was once again ammmmmmmmmmmazing.  I wish I could just eat fruit 24/7 I would be one happy Momma!!  But, I can't.  So I will have to learn to like my veggies a little more than I currently do I guess!  Breakfast was 1 cup cooked oatmeal, 1/2 cup fruit (I kinda added a little more just to get rid of my peaches b/c they were about to ruin!!) and 1/2 cup Greek yogurt w/ a lil raw honey to sweeten it.  MMM!   Lunch...my awesome twin sister posted a link on my facebook wall this morning, you can see it here.
amazing right?  all you do is spray with cooking oil (I didn't even do this!!) and bake at 375 F for 10 minutes.  YUM!  Thanks Bammy! :) :)  Supper..............was a whole nother story!  We went to a local Peach Festival(where ironically there were no peaches, lol what's up with that?) and I fixed my supper before we left and took my supplements with me so I could take them on the way home & eat when we got back.  So I practically run to the fridge b/c I was excited to try my new recipe, took the first bite.....wait for it, wait for it......YUCK!  Quinoa Salad was a no go at the Holley Home!  Quiona - check, tomato- check, cucumber- check, olive oil-check Braggs liquid aminos-check Mint-UMMM NO!  I sooo should have left the mint out and it would have been great.  Oh well, ya live and learn!  SO I had me some leftover veggie stir-fry for a replacement, which was even better left over, so didn't turn out so bad after all.  Well, my sweet little boy is crying for Momma so I'm signing off now & headin for bed!

Be sure to tune in daily for more Reset updates!
In Christian Love,
Crys

Reset Day 4

Day 4 is in the book folks!!!!!!  I have got to admit these 3 Musketeer bars that were sent to my kiddos by Great Granny are looking like heaven in a silver wrapper kinda tempting so I'm gonna make this short & sweet and head to bed before I mess up!  LOL!

Hubby was off work again today & can you guess what all four of us did?  Yep, we slept in!!!  So, if you drop by my house...I will warn you, it's not sparkling clean or anything, ha ha!  But I've enjoyed getting to just relax & enjoy the past couple of days with my little family!  We decided to go let our kiddos play with their cousin around lunch time, so I took my meal on the road...I took my supplement when we were getting kiddos ready & by the time we got in the car heading to Taco Bell for my hubby's unhealthy lunch take the kids to play, I got to enjoy my Lentil Lime Salad...I added salsa this time and it was even better!!  NORMALLY I would have given in and had that "healthy option" ...(yeah right!) at Taco Bell and got me a Taco Salad.  Nope, not this time...not giving in, I was prepared!  I think that is the key right there...being prepared!  Isn't that the key in so much of life?  Is it EASIER to grab fast food?  Yep!  Is it going to help you reach your goals?  Is it going to fuel your body & make you feel great & give you the energy you need?  Nope!

Breakfast today was 2 CUPS of fresh fruit!!  That's not all folks, I also got 1/2 cup Greek yogurt with honey drizzled on it(are you drooling yet?) and a piece of whole wheat toast.  It was YUMMY in my tummy and super filling.  mmmm I could have this for breakfast every.single.day!  I already told you about lunch above, and supper was ammmmmmmazing.  Stir-fried veggies(this was a first I've always put meat in stir fry!) Cucumber & tomato salad (already a personal favorite & my sweet in laws have given us tons of cucumbers & tomatoes from their garden so we absolutely love this & could eat in daily!) and then there was Quinoa.  I actually saw people that were doing the Reset when it first came out and learned about quinoa.(pronounced "Keen-wa".  If you don't know what it is, it's a seed...but it's also considered to be a whole grain.  It can be prepared like barley or rice.  I actually ended up mixing the stir fry & the quinoa together after I took the pic!  I will definitely be making this again!

Sweet dreams, I'm off to get some beauty sleep!

Reset Day 3

Ahhhh!  I feel like I'm a normal person again! :)  Day 3 has definitely been my turning point.  I still have a VERY mild headache, hardly worth mentioning but I'm being brutally honest here so I will include it!  My hubby was off work today so we all slept in until 9:30!!  That is pretty much un-heard-of around here, but MUCH needed today after my husband worked like 19 out of 24 hours yesterday & I felt like I was a recovering drug addict or something, lol...I would hate to see the person that does the Ultimate Reset straight off of McDonald's being their diet  plan b/c I really did eat pretty clean before the Reset began BUT there's always room to improve and some of that junk food had slipped back in, I had actually gained about 5 pounds when I stepped on the scales to do my pre-reset measurements.  YIKES!  Sooo...that made me even more determined to do this Reset 100% the right way and get awesome results!

Since we slept in my morning routine was off a bit but I just pushed lunch back a little and ended up having supper a little later than normal but got it in. :)  Those supplement schedules are hard to adjust to but I'm getting the hang of it, and can I just say I feel like I'm going to float away!!!  I haven't drank this much water since I don't even know when, but I'm sure it's needed!  A gallon a day keeps ya detoxing that's for sure!

Breakfast called for the same as Day 1, so I changed it up a little and made my egg & spinach toaster sandwich... it was yummy!!  Lunch was Lentil Lime Salad.............hmmm, I grew up in the SOUTH and I can honestly say today was my first time tasting a lentil!  LOL!  But ... to my surprise, I liked it!  They say the leftovers are even better...we'll see about that probably tomorrow, but I may try my hand at home made SUSHI?!!  If you want me to try the sushi so I can post a pic & give feedback please leave a comment for me here!  So back to the lentils...my hubby was NOT a fan, he kept calling it lemon lime salad ;) ... but with a little salsa I got him to hush! haha!!!  Supper -- was a repeat of Day 2's meal so I changed it up a little and made it into a healthy "Mexican Pile On" ... it's something we've made forever in our house BUT it's always on top of salty greasy unhealthy but yummy tortilla chips and has cheese, olives, coconut, nuts & all kinds of other goodies on it.  But I made due with my healthy Reset version & it was delicious!!!

Be sure to tune in daily for more Reset updates!

Reset Day 2

I'm not feeling so great right now at the end of Day 2, not gonna lie to ya!! I woke up this morning with a nasty metallic taste in my mouth(read more about that here) after having a headache most of the night and I've had flu like symptoms through out the day today.  I'm sitting here in a sweat shirt with chills as I type! ;)and yes...your calendar is correct, it's still July!  On a good note, the food was AMAZING today.  I love oatmeal with fresh blueberries & Greek yogurt sweetened with raw honey.  Tomorrow I get eggs/spinach/toast again from Day 1...I love how the meals change daily so you don't get tired of one particular food!  For lunch today I had a yummy HUGE Greek salad with baked chicken and a home made Greek Dressing....I wasn't as big of fan of the Greek dressing as much as the Basic Vinaigrette that I made yesterday, but it was "okay".  The TACOS I had for supper however were the best thing I've had yet on this Reset!  You are allowed to replace meals as long as they are within the same "Phase"/week that you are in so this will be my go to meal if I find one that I can't eat!  I actually fixed A LOT tonight so that the whole family could eat this meal & fed them some baked chicken with it...can't go wrong with that combo!  They all gobbled it up almost as fast as their Momma did!! ;)  You can see for yourself in the pic above but it was a lot of food to be on a "strict meal plan" all of these meals are a lot of food!  This was black beans & rice, corn, home made salsa on top of steamed spinach with pine nuts & home made guacamole on the side that I ended up putting on my taco.  YUM!  I haven't felt overly hungry, just normal...ready for each meal by the time it arrives on the schedule but not starving or anything...plenty of food, probably more than I eat normally!  I KNOW I'm drinking more water than normal which was a must for this detox process to work.  I have been drinking about a gallon a day.  GO ME!!  If you know me, you know that I am terrible at drinking water...not that I'd rather have a Coke or anything but I just don't ever really feel thirsty so I have to remind myself constantly to drink water.  I can already tell that is changing, I've been craving my water both days!  I carry my cute little water mug that I got from the hospital when I had my little boy a year ago with me so that I'll be sure to pay attention to how many ounces I'm drinking!  So far it's working. :)

Better get on with my night & ready for some more beauty sleep!  Pray that I get some sleep without a headache tonight, it's still there but getting a little more dull so hoping it will be gone by morning.

I smell AWESOME!

I'm smelling a little bit really really funky today & I have a nice metallic taste in my mouth that won't go away..........yep!  pretty sure this detox is working!! lol....so if you see me in the next few days, I may or may not have greasy hair but I promise I shower daily! ;)  I found this article that kinda explains what I'm going through today.  Nice to know all that gunk is leaving my body!  I cannot wait to see how I feel on Day 21!!

Heavy Metal Elimination

Almost every person is poisoned by deposits of heavy metals in the body. Lead, aluminum, copper and arsenic collect in organs throughout the body. Because of their heavy weight, they are difficult to eliminate, and may cause discomfort as they leave the body.
Lead enters the body through auto exhaust, paints and canned foods. Aluminum may come from preparing or storing food in aluminum containers. Arsenic is present on sprayed foods, and so on.
Since these metals are heavy, they, tend to remain in the body until a cleansing diet or fast is followed. As these metals come out, headaches and a general achiness all through the body may occur. The gums may hurt and the kidneys may throb as these metals leave the organs and bones.
Occasionally, you can actually taste the metal that is being eliminated. Lead, especially often leaves a metallic taste on the tongue when it is leaving the body.
Heavy-metal poisoning can make you feel uncomfortable all over, and it is very common due to all the environmental toxins. As you eliminate these metals, bear the uncomfortable body aches and realize that they are leaving your body forever.

Reset Day 1

Well, Day 1 of my Ultimate Reset is in the books!!!  Wow, this is harder than I thought it was going to be.  I mean I had myself prepared I thought...but today was tough!  I am blogging about this so you can all follow my journey & hopefully by the end I can inspire you to take charge of your health.  So, I started this morning with 16 oz of water with my Mineralize & Oxygenize supplements and Optimize is pill form so I gulped them down with my first mug of water for the day.  30 minutes later, it was time for breakfast...2 scrambled eggs & steamed spinach with 2 pcs of whole wheat toast...simple, that's pretty much what I used to eat for breakfast before I discovered Shakeology!  A few hours later it was time for supplements again(repeat exactly as before) and wait 30 minutes before eating lunch...which was a huge microgreen Salad with home made viniagrette...idk about you but I've always bought my vinaigrette from the store thinking it was "my healthiest option" ... well, let me tell you this tastes even better, maybe it's just knowing it's the healthiest dressing you could possibly put on your salad(well excluding lemon juice but I'm not a fan of salad w/ only lemon juice...lol!) So I was able to eat MOST of the salad, that was a lot of food!!  This is one of the major challenges in this Reset for me is eating SO MUCH FOOD!!  Honestly I have to remind myself to eat to get all my meals in...clue # 1 that my body needed a reset for my metabolism to work right so I get those cues to GO EAT SOMETHING!:)  After lunch I waited 2 hours and then took the Alkalinize supplement....BLEK!  You can see my thoughts about that here.  Please excuse my awesome video making skills, they are under way!  So after I took the Alkalinize supp I got a headache, not toooo severe but it put a kink in my plans to finish up my grocery shopping!  Instead, I listened to my body, drank some more water as suggested by the Beachbody leaders in our facebook group & rested as much as my 2 stinkers would allow.:)  The headache dulled and we went on to Kroger to round up the rest of my new healthy foods for the rest of the week..and can I just say the new store(if you are local you know what I'm talking about!) is AMAZING.  Seriously we stayed in there forever just looking at all the good yummy-ness! hehe!  On the way home I jumped on a conference call with my Team (Team on FIYAH...you should join us!!) and when I got home I took my supplements (repeat of Mineralize, Oxygenize & Optimize)and I finished cooking my supper while I was talking to my girls!  Seriously, don't ask what my hubby ate for supper tonight...definitely not Reset approved..lol!  Let's just say it was leftovers from my last greasy pre-reset meal which included Pizza Hut & like 5 "Slush Puppy" popcicles which are the devil last night's supper!  So tonight I choked down some of the salmon & enjoyed the asparagus & baby potatoes.  I am just NOT a fish fan no matter how I try, no matter how it's cooked.  THANKFUL that was the only time I have to do that during this reset but I didn't want to skip it and throw off the process...trying to do this 100% and not give in to my weaknesses.  I am already missing my workouts...it's Monday and it's been a LONG time since I haven't worked out on a Monday......whew!  20 more days, what workout will I do on Day 22?!!!!  Hmmm... might be a great place to insert Les Mills Pump!!!!  ???!

I'd better sign off for now & get some beauty sleep...I'll be back tomorrow to update on how I do with Day 2!
